Originally from Falcon, N.C., Dr. Walters brings a wealth of knowledge and a caring approach to the practice.

She completed her undergraduate studies at East Carolina University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Public Health. Her journey in optometry continued at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she achieved her Doctorate of Optometry.

Dr. Walters received comprehensive training in primary eye care, pediatric eye care, ocular disease, and low vision during her studies. She also completed an internship specializing in fitting specialty contact lenses for patients with post-refractive surgery complications, keratoconus, and other ocular conditions. Her dedication to excellence led her to an externship at the Birmingham V.A. Hospital, where she gained extensive experience managing complex eye conditions like glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy.

Dr. Walters is an active member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society and the American Optometric Association, demonstrating her commitment to her profession and her patients.

Now residing in Wilmington, NC, with her fiancé, Dr. Walters enjoys the coastal lifestyle, indulging in a good book and training her delightful golden retriever puppy, Sunny.
