Dr. Courtney Walters

Dr. Courtney Walters, O.D., is a skilled and compassionate optometrist originally from Falcon, NC. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Public Health from East Carolina University and completed her Doctorate of Optometry at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Dr. Walters brings extensive experience in primary eye care, pediatric eye care, ocular disease management, and low vision services. During her internship, she received advanced training in specialty contact lenses, treating complex conditions such as post-refractive surgery complications, keratoconus, and other corneal irregularities. Her externship at the Birmingham V.A. Hospital provided her with in-depth experience managing ocular diseases like glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy.

An active member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society and the American Optometric Association, Dr. Walters is dedicated to staying at the forefront of advancements in eye care. She is passionate about delivering personalized care to help her patients achieve optimal vision and eye health.

Now residing in Wilmington, NC, Dr. Walters embraces the coastal lifestyle with her fiancé and their golden retriever puppy, Sunny. Outside the office, she enjoys beach volleyball, diving into a great book, and exploring the natural beauty of the coastline.
